
The first round of negotiations on the China-Peru Free Trade Agreement escalation and the second meeting of the China-Peru Free Trade Zone Committee were held in Beijing on April 1-4. The two sides agreed to speed up the negotiation process, strive to achieve the goal of upgrading, and strive to end soon.
At the meeting, the two sides comprehensively reviewed and summarized the achievements made since the entry into force of the agreement, sorted out the problems encountered in the implementation of the agreement, actively explored relevant solutions, and negotiated service trade, investment, intellectual property, e-commerce, and competition. Policy, customs procedures, trade facilitation and rules of origin were discussed and positive progress was made.
Since the entry into force of the China-Symbol FTA since March 2010, the implementation effect has been generally good, and the utilization rate has been increasing year by year, effectively promoting the healthy and rapid development of bilateral economic and trade relations, further enriching the connotation of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Peru. Businesses and people bring tangible benefits.
