On the afternoon of April 11, Xiong Meng’s Executive Vice President and Secretary General met with the visiting Sheffield business delegation. Xu Ziyin, Director of China Affairs of the Sheffield City Council, Zhao Xia, Dean of the Confucius Institute at Sheffield, Du Dong, Head of Bank of China's Manchester Branch, and representatives of companies in the advanced manufacturing, medical technology and food sectors in Sheffield.

Xiong Meng Executive Vice President briefly introduced the basic situation and main activities of the club, focusing on the international cooperation brand project of the club, including the 13th Global China Business Conference held in Sheffield in 2017, the Hamburg Summit and "One Belt and One Road" Business Association (BRICA) and so on.

Director Xu Ziyin said that the Global China Business Conference was successfully held in Sheffield two years ago, which greatly enhanced the interest of Shenfield City's investment cooperation in China. So far, Sheffield has held 6 UK-China business seminars and cooperated with the local Confucius Institute to launch the “Sheffield China 88” program, which is dedicated to promoting the export of 88 leading companies in Sheffield to China. He also expressed the British interest in the “Belt and Road” and “Made in China 2025” and pointed out that he hopes to help the trade cooperation between the UK and China through the “Sheffield China 88” plan. Representatives from the companies in Sheffield briefly introduced their main business and their intention to cooperate with China.

In combination with the specific cooperation intentions of representatives from various companies in Sheffield, Executive Vice President Xiong Meng pointed out that the two sides can discuss specific cooperation in six aspects, including co-organizing convention and exhibition activities; and cooperating with local governments to carry out the construction of Sino-British "two-country parks" industrial parks. The use of the Brlinking cloud platform to achieve efficient project docking; the "Longxiang Collaborative Innovation Engine" and the Industrial Collaborative Innovation Research Institute model that I will develop will cooperate with the UK's Advanced Manufacturing Research Center and other institutions to promote collaborative innovation in the industry; The implementation of the "Energy-promoting countries' empowerment plan - into the UK" to promote Sino-British economic and trade cooperation; in cooperation with the Global Industry Research Center of the Association, the two sides organized experts to carry out industrial development research on artificial intelligence and new materials. He also outlined my unique strengths and achievements in these six areas.

Representatives from Sheffield City expressed their appreciation for the various brand work of the Association and hoped that through this I would help the Sheffield City enterprises to establish closer ties with Chinese companies and markets. Xiong Meng’s executive vice president pointed out that in the context of the current golden age of Sino-British relations, cooperation between the two sides will be promising.
